BARCELONA star Gerard Pique has told the club to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.The Blues key man has been instrumental in Chelsea following his move in 2016.The Spain international, 27, guided Antonio Conte’s side to the Premier League title last time out.Alonso has impressed this season under Conte, despite Chelsea’s poor title defense.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, who are well known for their sensational transfer claims, Alonso has caught the eye of Barcelona.
They say Nou Camp star Pique has urged Barca’s transfer chiefs to complete a deal for the Chelsea defender this summer.
Don Balon add that Real Madrid are also in the running to land the Stamford Bridge left-back and Pique is desperate for Barca to beat their arch-rivals to Alonso.

Spain international Pique feels Alonso would provide competition for places at the Nou Camp, with current left-back Jordi Alba the No.1 choice for Ernesto Valverde.
Alonso and Chelsea are back in acton tomorrow night when the Blues travel to Burnley in the Premier League (7:45pm kick-off).
Conte’s men still have a slim hope of securing Champions League football for next season.However, Chelsea trail fourth-placed Tottenham by eight points with five games remaining.
